Les deux images de cette édition limitée Field Guide proviennent d'un film en 16mm (On Plant Communication) que j'ai commencé à réaliser en collaboration avec le compositeur Hank Mittnacht l'été dernier dans le cadre de la résidence Caza d'Oro en Ariège. Pour cette séquence, j'ai évidé un guide des insectes publié en 1977 et filmé Hank qui les déployait sur une table lumineuse. Selon de nombreuses sources, la population mondiale d'insectes a diminué de 80 % depuis la publication de ce guide.

2025 edition of 20 prints, in support of the film “On Plant Communication”

The two images in this Field Guide limited edition are stills from a 16mm film (On Plant Communication) that I started making in collaboration with composer Hank Mittnacht this past summer in the context of the Caza d'Oro Residency in Ariège, France. For this scene, I cut out insects from a field guide made in 1977 and filmed as Hank spread them out across a light table. According to many sources, the global insect population has declined by 80% since the time that this field guide was made.
